Note from Blogger Manager (Ai Kiyori):
Thank you everyone for applying! We had unprecedented interest in our event, and received almost 300 applications! Unfortunately, we couldn’t accept everyone, and the high amount of applications necessitated stricter evaluation of applicants. If you were not accepted, don’t feel too bad, because Titania was also rejected.
If you have questions about your result, the criteria is listed below:
1. Your track record as a blogger with us in our previous events. We value the "personal" aspect of a blogger the most, and if you have previously demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and commitment to another of our events that we run, we will honor that in our judgment. Conversely, if you behaved unprofessionally as a previous blogger of ours and/or did not follow the rules, especially those regarding communication, we also factored this into your application.
2. Your understanding of fundamental photography principles. A majority of bloggers who were not accepted ended up with this result based on their failure to understand basic photography rules. Some examples include: failure to follow the rule of thirds when needed, failure to utilize negative space properly, failure to ground a photo on an axis when rotating the photo, failure to negate the fisheye effect, and failure to correctly understand what the HDR filter is for.
3. Your "uniqueness" and "creativity." In certain cases, if a blogger’s style or photography sets were striking and memorable, failure to meet all criteria of #2 could be overlooked.
Blogger invites and additional information will be sent out in the next few days to those who were accepted. Congratulations!
