Stories&Co. Pride Month ’20

Dear lads, ladies, and non-binary daisies,
I’ve been thinking very hard how to celebrate Pride this year, both personally and professionally. What I’ve mostly seen happening around the grid didn’t quite speak to me this year for many reasons. I didn’t want to slap a pride flag on something and call it a day or do some quick money grab with a couple of mainstream sizes. As a member of this community I’m incredibly sad and disappointed with how most Pride events developed this year and I decided it’s time for a change with how I participate and what actions I take. My focus is inclusivity and here’s how me and my store are celebrating this year:
• My Pride Month gift does not feature flag(s) colors and is not exclusively Pride wear – Orlando Slip Dress comes in 4 universal colors (HUD ridden) and is available for group members. As much as I love the rainbow flag and all others, I would like this gift to be useful all year around. It comes in Maitreya Lara, Vtech, SLink Hourglass + Petite, and Belleza Freya + Jake sizes. To make it available to everyone, the group fee is 0L till the end of the month (as a bonus you get 15% of discount for all in-store purchases).
• Stories&Co. is a proud sponsor of Pride Festival this year again – for the 2nd year in a row we’re sponsoring Pride Festival run by Eva Artemesia and it is a five days festival full of music, fashion and art. It is a non profit event with all funds raised being donated to Arcigay LGBTQ+ association.
• Bulge option in VTech sizes and Belleza Jake are becoming permanent in our sizes offering – being inclusive is very important to me personally and I will do my best to include the new sizes in all of my future releases. Whenever technically impossible I will make sure to make a similar release soon after with such sizes. I will also update some of the most requested previous releases with both VTech + bulge and Belleza Jake sizes in the next few months. Thank you for being patient and giving me time and space to adjust my workflow.
As always, I am open to any suggestions – If I could be more inclusive in my work, please don’t hesitate to contact me! I hope everyone has a safe and good Pride Month!
